Florida, 1999 — An evergreen truth was spoken.

“Everything is fucked, everbody sucks.”

The world feels more overwhelming than ever. Lives and communities are being crushed under the boots of fascism and late-stage capitalism is encroaching on our every waking day with fresh, new, and exciting man-made horrors beyond our comprehension. And there are people out there cheering it all on in earnest.

I have no solution to present to you that would not put me on a list.

Everything is fucked.

Everybody does suck.

So, I’ve decided I’m going to try to pick up writing again.

Why? I don’t know. Maybe it’ll help me. Maybe it’ll help you. Maybe it’ll just pass the time for both of us.

When the world is overwhelming, I typically turn to being creative to provide some respite for myself. I try and share that creativity with others to help provide some respite for them as well.

I’m David, by the way. I founded and play in the band World Eaters. I used to write a lot, but then I stopped. I stopped right around the time I started my first big-boy corporate job. Funny, how things work out like that.

I like metal music.

I will write about metal music.

I hope you will find some respite from the things that are fucked and the people that suck in my writings about metal music.
